Customs Supervisor

• Lead and manage end‑to‑end customs operations for imports and exports in Vietnam.
• Ensure full compliance with Vietnamese customs regulations, trade laws, and government policies.
• Interpret, implement, and monitor changes in Vietnamese customs laws and regulations, advising business teams proactively.
• Oversee accurate HSN/HS Code classification, valuation, and country‑of‑origin determination for all products.
• Ensure correct application of import duty structures, taxes, exemptions, special schemes, and policy conditions relevant to the products.
• Co-ordinating with customs authorities, ports, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Handle customs audits, inspections, post‑clearance audits, and issue resolutions.
• Drive process improvements to reduce clearance lead time, duty costs, and compliance risks.
• Prepare and review customs documentation, declarations, licenses, and reports.
• Support internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance training initiatives.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert for Vietnam customs operations within the trade compliance team.
• MIS reporting (monthly & yearly) to Global Trade Compliance team
• Data & document retention as per customs requirements
• Service provider invoice verification & submission to finance for payment
• Quarterly arranging the “No Dues Certificate” from service providers
• Ensure to maintain audit trail for each invoice submission for agency charges; reimbursement or any other payments to vendor
• Monthly reconciliation with service providers with action plan for NDC issuance
• Monthly reconciliation and reporting for Detention; demurrage & any other charges
• Monthly MIS for FTA Benefit tracking
• Duty saving initiatives

• Language Proficiency
  • Strong verbal and written proficiency in English and Vietnamese (mandatory).
• Customs Expertise
  • Thorough knowledge of Vietnamese customs operations, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Tariff & Duty Knowledge
  • Strong expertise in HSN / HS Code classification.
  • In‑depth understanding of Vietnam import duty structure, taxes, free trade agreements (FTAs), exemptions, and policy‑based conditions related to products.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in international Trade, Business, or a related field.
• Additional certification in Trade Compliance, Customs Management, or International Trade (preferred).
• Proven experience dealing with Vietnam Customs authorities and government agencies.
• Experience working in a multinational or regional trade compliance environment is an advantage.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
