BASIC FUNCTION OF THE JOB
We are seeking a highly experienced Product Engineering Lead with strong product ownership mindset to drive the industrialization and mass production of high-end optical modules.
This role is responsible for leading process development, managing NPI projects, and ensuring stable, scalable, and high-yield manufacturing performance. The ideal candidate will bridge product understanding with manufacturing execution to resolve complex technical issues and optimize production processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY

We are seeking a highly experienced Product Engineering Lead with strong product ownership mindset to drive the industrialization and mass production of high-end optical modules.
This role is responsible for leading process development, managing NPI projects, and ensuring stable, scalable, and high-yield manufacturing performance. The ideal candidate will bridge product understanding with manufacturing execution to resolve complex technical issues and optimize production processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
NPI & Product Industrialization
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) from engineering phase to mass production
- Collaborate with R&D/Product teams to ensure design-for-manufacturability (DFM)
- Manage product transfer, ramp-up, and production readiness
- Ensure smooth transition from prototype to volume production
- Lead process planning, development, and optimization for optical module mass production
- Drive yield improvement, defect reduction, and process stability
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Support capacity expansion and process scalability
- Act as technical owner on the manufacturing side for assigned products
- Lead root cause analysis for product and process issues
- Resolve complex cross-functional technical challenges (process, design, quality)
- Drive corrective and preventive actions to improve product performance
- Lead cross-functional projects involving Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain
- Manage project timelines, risks, and deliverables
- Coordinate resources to ensure on-time delivery and production
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering (Optical, Electrical, Mechanical, or related fields)
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Process Engineering, or NPI roles
- International training: 6 months in China, followed by a mandatory bonding agreement
- Good command of English (4 skills), Chinese is a plus
- Strong understanding of:
- Optical module fundamentals (preferred)
- Manufacturing processes and process control
- Yield analysis, defect analysis, and continuous improvement
- Proven experience in:
- NPI / product transfer / ramp-up
- Yield improvement and process optimization
- Leading cross-functional engineering projects
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience in high-tech manufacturing environments (e.g., optical, semiconductor, electronics) is highly preferred.
