We are looking for a detail‑oriented Import & Export Customs Specialist to manage end‑to‑end customs clearance and international logistics operations at our Vietnam facility. You will serve as the key point of contact to ensure the smooth, compliant, and cost‑effective cross‑border movement of goods and equipment. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who excels at solving logistics challenges and building strong relationships with customs authorities and logistics partners.
- Handle all import/export customs operations: prepare clearance documents for goods/equipment in compliance with Vietnam Customs Law, RCEP, EVFTA, and other relevant trade agreements.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and customs officials to track clearance progress and resolve issues such as inspections or port delays.
- Independently manage Vietnam’s processing trade procedures and maintain regulatory records.
- Maintain relationships with Vietnam Customs and Commodity Inspection agencies to stay updated on policy changes.
- Coordinate international sea/air freight bookings, optimize transportation costs and lead times, and monitor shipment status.
- Handle transportation disputes (damage, delays) and follow up on insurance claims.
- Ensure compliance by accurately classifying goods with HS codes and training the team on Vietnam’s import/export regulations.
- Maintain import/export ledgers, record shipment details, clearance times, and costs, and prepare regular reports.
- College degree or above in International Trade, Logistics Management, Customs Affairs, or a related field. Vietnam Customs Certification (Chuyên viên Hải quan) is a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in Vietnam import/export customs or international logistics operations. Familiarity with China‑Vietnam trade flows is preferred.
- Fluent in Vietnamese and Chinese (written & spoken). Proficient in English reading and writing.
- Proficient in operating Vietnam’s customs systems (ECUS5, VNACCS/VCIS).
- Knowledgeable in Vietnam import/export tax calculation, rules of origin (FORM E/D), INCOTERMS 2020, and trade terms (DDP, FOB).
