1. Job Summary
As the Vietnam-based MES Engineer, you will serve as a key technical and collaborative bridge between China MES team and the Vietnam factory. You will work closely with the China IT team to ensure the stable and efficient operation of the MES system deployed from China at the Vietnam plant. Your role involves providing frontline operational support, troubleshooting on-site issues, and delivering user training to support the factory’s digital production goals. This position requires excellent cross-cultural communication skills, technical execution ability, and proactive collaboration.


2. Key Responsibilities
• Frontline MES Operation & Support (Core Responsibility)
o Responsible for daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of MES system issues at the Vietnam factory to ensure uninterrupted production.
o Serve as the first point of contact for MES-related operational issues and troubleshooting requests from local users (production, quality, materials, etc.).
o Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system checks, data backups, and access configuration under the remote guidance of the IT team.


• HQ-Local Collaboration & Execution
o Maintain close communication with the China MES team, regularly participate in technical meetings, and provide updates on operational status, issue logs, and improvement needs.
o Accurately understand and execute MES operational standards, procedures, and upgrade plans defined by HQ to ensure alignment between the Vietnam factory and HQ standards.
o Assist the HQ team in new feature testing, data collection, and on-site validation at the Vietnam factory.


• On-site Issue Resolution & Process Optimization
o Work closely on the production floor to quickly identify MES anomalies caused by operations, network, hardware, or data issues, and coordinate local resources for resolution.
o Gather Vietnam factory-specific business process requirements, provide feedback to the HQ team, and assist in designing localized adaptation solutions.
o Utilize MES data to support the Vietnam factory in analyzing production performance and proposing initial efficiency improvement suggestions.

• User Training & Documentation Management
o Conduct system operation training for Vietnam factory users under the guidance of HQ and develop Vietnamese-language user guides.
o Maintain localized system documentation and a troubleshooting knowledge base to ensure effective knowledge transfer.

• System Integration & Interface Support
o Assist in maintaining connectivity and interfaces between MES and other local systems(e.g., ERP, PLC devices, barcode scanners).
o Support HQ in system integration testing and data exchange validation.

 

2. Requirements:

Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Automation, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
• At least 1 years of experience in MES system operation, maintenance, or implementation, with familiarity in at least one mainstream MES platform (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, SAP ME).
• Experience working in local Vietnam factories (electronics, automotive, home appliances, textiles, etc.) is preferred.
• Experience collaborating with Chinese teams or working in Chinese-invested enterprises is highly preferred.2. Technical Skills
• Proficient in SQL database querying and basic administration (SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL).
• Understanding of industrial networks and communication protocols (TCP/IP, OPC, serial communication, etc.).
• Ability to read technical documentation; basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, C#, VB) are a plus.
• Quick learner able to master MES management tools and operational platforms provided by HQ.


3. Language & Communication Skills (Critical Requirements)
• Native Vietnamese proficiency, with the ability to communicate fluently with local users and prepare documentation in Vietnamese.
• Proficiency in Chinese is a strong plus: Ability to communicate in Chinese (spoken and written) for daily work and understand technical instructions.
• If not fluent in Chinese, excellent English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) is required to ensure seamless collaboration with the HQ team.
• Strong cross-cultural communication skills, sense of responsibility, and proactive reporting and synchronization abilities.


4. Soft Skills
• Excellent service mindset and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond quickly under pressure.
• Strong team player with the ability to act as a “bridge” between HQ and local teams.
• Quick learner with the ability to continuously adapt to new tools and processes promoted by HQ.
