Cyber Security Consultant

Key Responsibilities

• Provide security advisory services to business and project teams, ensuring proposed system changes comply with security standards and requirements.

• Review system designs and workflows to identify potential risks, threats, and vulnerabilities, and recommend effective security controls.

• Partner with senior security architects to guide architectural decisions and deliver secure design outcomes.

• Create, maintain, and evolve security control patterns and integration standards.

• Oversee risk and assurance activities for solution designs that impact the organization’s risk profile, ensuring alignment with approved risk appetite.

Key Decisions

• Assess and confirm compliance with Group Information Risk Policies.

• Select and define appropriate security controls to address identified risks.

• Propose alternative approaches or compensating controls when technical constraints or deviations arise.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the technology industry.

• At least 3 years’ experience in information security, including areas such as Security Risk Management, GRC, Security Audits, Security Analysis, or Risk Consulting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent technical discipline.

• Security-related certifications are preferred, or a demonstrated commitment to obtaining recognized industry certifications.
