Job Summary
The Material Planning Specialist is responsible for ensuring optimal material availability to support production while maintaining efficient inventory levels. The role focuses on demand planning, material requirement calculation, supplier coordination, and inventory control to ensure smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Material Planning & Forecasting
  • Analyze customer demand, production plans, and forecasts to generate accurate material requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain short-term and long-term material plans.
  • Monitor demand fluctuations and adjust material plans accordingly.
2. Inventory Management
  • Control inventory levels to balance between material availability and minimizing excess stock.
  • Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory and propose corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate inventory records in the system (ERP/MRP).
3. Supplier Coordination
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Follow up on purchase orders and track shipment status.
  • Work closely with procurement to resolve supply disruptions or delays.
4. Production Support
  • Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules to avoid line stoppages.
  • Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to manage material flow.
  • Handle urgent material requests and expedite orders when necessary.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Track and report key indicators such as inventory turnover, material shortages, and delivery performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare regular planning and inventory reports for management review.
6. Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement improvements in material planning and inventory control processes.
  • Support ERP/MRP system enhancement initiatives.
  • Apply lean and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or inventory control (experience in electronics manufacturing is preferred).
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Good understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • English proficiency (written and spoken).
