We are expanding our footprint in Vietnam to deliver a new coffee traceability engagement with a global food and beverage customer. To make this project a success, we are building a small, senior, in-country team that can operate autonomously and bridge between local supply chain realities and our European product and engineering teams.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Solution Engineer based in Vietnam to act as the technical front-end bridge between our European-based engineering team and coffee supply chains on the ground. This is a senior, autonomous role with strong technical ownership and visibility to both our customer and our product team. You will be the technical lead on a new coffee traceability engagement in Vietnam. You will help us unlock the complex data flows between farmers, sub-collectors, collectors, traders, exporters, and our customer, and turn them into a scalable, maintainable the deployment.
Responsibilities
● Work closely with our implementation team and be the bridge between real-world supply chains in Vietnam and the platform.
● Be the technical lead within our onboarding team and ensure designed and deployed solutions are scalable, maintainable, and make reliable insights possible.
● Work closely with our customer and their supply chain partners to architect the way the platform collects, receives, and interacts with data.
● Map existing systems and data flows within the Vietnamese coffee supply chain (farmers, sub-collectors, collectors, traders, exporters) and determine the most effective data collection methods using field observations, third-party IT interactions, and data requirements.
● Develop comprehensive data capture solutions for validating sustainability, ethical production, and product tracing across multiple, potentially competing commercial actors.
● Create descriptive models of the Vietnamese coffee supply chain in cooperation with our development, data engineering, and data science teams in Europe.
● Identify reusable implementation patterns that can be developed as reusable platform components and help drive their implementation as part of product development.
● Act as the senior technical counterpart to our customer’s digital and sustainability teams, holding commercial and technical conversations independently.
● Partner with our local Strategic Designer to translate fragmented, often paper-based processes into structured digital inputs.
● Help drive progress toward the project go-live timeline.
Requirements
● Native Vietnamese (mandatory) and business-fluent English.
● Relevant industry experience in the architecture, design, and integration of technology solutions.
● Sound knowledge of data modelling, transformation, and data ingestion concepts and tools.
● Knowledge of data orchestration and data pipeline concepts and tooling.
● Solid programming skills and hands-on experience with databases and SQL.
● Experience working with cloud service providers, ideally AWS, and supporting data integrations with 3rd parties.
● Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
● Degree in computer science, software engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
● The ability to hold your own in commercial conversations with customers and tech partners, including politically sensitive situations with large corporate clients.
● Proven ability to operate in ambiguous, unstructured environments and work autonomously as the only local technical resource.
● Passion and desire to work on sustainability topics and ethical production within supply chains.
Nice to Have
● Prior experience in agriculture, commodities, or food and beverage supply chains in Vietnam.
● Exposure to coffee, cocoa, or other smallholder-driven supply chains.
● Experience supporting implementations across multiple commercial actors with cross-flow data challenges.
