MATERIAL PLANNING SUPERVISOR

YOUR ROLE
As a Material Planning Supervisor, you will lead material planning activities to ensure continuous material availability for production while optimizing inventory, cost, and supply chain efficiency. You will manage planning systems, coordinate cross-functional activities, and drive planning discipline to support business performance and customer delivery requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage material planning team performance, including goal setting, coaching, and performance review
• Ensure optimal inventory control through monitoring of stock levels, ABC analysis, and variance tracking
• Drive effective forecasting, material availability, and shortage management
• Review and analyze material shortages and implement corrective actions proactively
• Monitor pipeline inventory and ensure material availability across all stages (supplier to production)
• Implement and maintain planning systems such as PFEP (Plan for Every Part) and ERP planning parameters
• Oversee MRP execution, ensure accuracy, and resolve system or planning issues
• Coordinate Engineering Change (ECN) implementation to avoid obsolescence and inventory risks
• Support new product launches by ensuring planning parameters and material readiness
• Monitor and control excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory, including reporting and reduction actions
• Approve material orders and ensure accuracy of planning decisions
• Drive logistics cost optimization, including transportation planning and premium freight control
• Ensure zero material-related downtime through effective planning and communication
• Manage supplier communication related to delivery performance and supply issues
• Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams (Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, Finance)
• Ensure effective documentation and reporting of planning activities and metrics

Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

• Comply with Versigent EHS policies and support site EHS objectives and targets
• Ensure compliance with all safety rules, procedures, and legal requirements
• Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally responsible working environment
• Identify, report, and follow up on unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and hazards
• Support risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions
• Promote safety awareness, safe behaviour, and continuous EHS improvement

YOUR BACKGROUND

• Experience in material planning, supply chain, or production planning within manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of MRP, inventory control, and supply chain coordination
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP or equivalent)
• Familiar with demand planning, supplier coordination, and inventory optimization
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage teams and work across multiple functions

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in material planning or supply chain
• Supervisory experience is preferred
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills
