Engineering Projects Manager (Manufacturing)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established international manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Engineering Projects Manager / Director to lead capital investment, facility improvement, and operational excellence projects within its manufacturing operations.

This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering engineering and manufacturing projects from concept through execution, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Development & Planning

• Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate project opportunities.

• Develop project proposals, business cases, and implementation plans.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to define project requirements and specifications.

• Manage vendor evaluation and selection processes to support project execution.

Project Execution & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end project implementation, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and execution.

• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, and suppliers to achieve project goals.

• Monitor project performance and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and productivity.

Stakeholder Management

• Maintain effective communication with senior leadership and project stakeholders.

• Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, challenges, and mitigation plans.

• Foster strong working relationships with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

Performance Monitoring & Risk Management

• Track project KPIs, budgets, and timelines.

• Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and financial risks.

• Conduct project reviews and capture lessons learned to support future improvements.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all projects comply with relevant engineering, manufacturing, environmental, and safety regulations.

• Promote a strong safety culture throughout all project activities.

• Support internal compliance and governance requirements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, or a related discipline.

• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred.

Experience

• Proven experience managing complex engineering or manufacturing projects.

• Experience overseeing capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects and facility improvements is highly desirable.

• Strong background in manufacturing operations, industrial engineering, or plant-based environments.

• Experience leading cross-functional teams and external contractors.
