Production Planning Manager

Job Title: Production Planning Manager 

Reports To: Board of Directors (BOD – Germany) 

Location: Thuan Dao, Long An (Tay Ninh) 

Job Purpose 

The Production Planning Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Master Production Planning process, ensuring an optimal balance between customer demand, production capacity, inventory levels, and business objectives. The role aims to maximize operational efficiency while ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Master Production Planning 

• Develop and manage medium- and long-term production plans. 

• Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts, and production capacity to establish effective production schedules. 

• Coordinate planning activities among Production, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, and Sales departments. 

• Ensure production plans are aligned with business objectives and operational capabilities. 

2. Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) 

• Lead and facilitate the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. 

• Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment between market demand and supply capabilities. 

• Monitor and communicate planning assumptions, risks, and opportunities. 

3. Order Management & Capacity Planning 

• Monitor order fulfillment performance and ensure on-time delivery commitments are achieved. 

• Evaluate, analyze, and optimize production capacity utilization. 

• Develop contingency and recovery plans to address demand fluctuations, supply disruptions, or operational constraints. 

• Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve production flow and responsiveness. 

4. Planning System & Process Improvement 

• Establish planning KPIs and management reporting systems. 

• Continuously improve production planning and inventory management processes. 

• Lead ERP/MRP implementation, enhancement, and optimization initiatives. 

• Utilize data analytics to improve forecast accuracy and planning effectiveness. 

5. Team Leadership & Development 

• Lead, manage, and develop the Production Planning team. 

• Provide coaching, mentoring, and capability-building programs for team members. 

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration. 

• Conduct performance evaluations and support career development planning. 

 

Qualifications & Requirements 

Education 

• Bachelor's degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline. 

Experience 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with complex production planning and order management processes. 

• At least 2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role. 

• Strong hands-on experience in Master Production Planning, Demand Planning, Capacity Planning, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). 

• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment. 

Skills & Competencies 

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. 

• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools. 

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. 

• Strong leadership, people management, and change management skills. 

• Advanced data analysis and reporting capabilities. 

• Ability to work effectively across functions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifictions 

• Professional certifications in Supply Chain, Operations, or Planning (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP, IBF, or equivalent). 

• Experience in ERP implementation or system transformation projects. 

• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
