1. JOB OVERVIEW
  • The CEO of the Convenience Store Business Unit is responsible for leading the end-to-end strategy, development, and operation of the CVS chain, including concept development, commercial performance, network expansion, and operational excellence.
  • This role is accountable for building a scalable, profitable, and competitive CVS business model, from concept creation to large‑scale nationwide rollout.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Business Development
  • Define and drive the overall CVS strategy, including positioning, value proposition, and differentiation in the market.
  • Build a long-term growth roadmap, including expansion, format evolution, and revenue optimization.
  • Identify market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscapes to shape business direction and innovation initiatives.
  • Own and manage key partnerships with landlords, suppliers, and strategic partners.
Concept & Format Development
  • Lead the development and continuous evolution of the CVS store concept, including:
    • Store format & footprint strategy
    • Customer journey & experience design
    • Product mix & category strategy
    • Space utilization & merchandising principles
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Design, Marketing, Commercial, Operations) to translate concept into store‑level execution guidelines.
  • Ensure consistency between concept vision and real-store implementation during roll-out.
Operations & Network Management
  • Oversee end-to-end operations across the store network, ensuring:
    • Consistent operational excellence and service standards
    • Strong execution of SOPs, KPIs, and store performance frameworks
  • Drive improvements in productivity, cost control, and customer experience.
  • Monitor multi-site operations performance and implement corrective actions when needed..
Expansion & Roll-out
  • Lead large-scale network expansion strategy:
    • Site selection & approval
    • Store opening pipeline
    • Capex optimization
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality execution of new store openings.
  • Define and optimize scalable rollout models for rapid expansion.
Commercial & Financial Performance
  • Full ownership of P&L for the CVS business unit.
  • Drive revenue growth through:
    • Category performance
    • Pricing and promotion strategies
    • Private label and food service development
  • Monitor and optimize key financial metrics
    • Sales, profit, margin
    • Store productivity (sales/m², basket size, conversion)
    • Inventory efficiency (DIO, shrinkage)
Organizational Leadership & Talent Development
  • Build and lead a high-performing leadership team across:
    • Operations
    • Commercial
    • Expansion/Property
    • Concept/Format
  • Develop strong organizational capabilities to support rapid growth.
  • Foster a culture of speed, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Cross-functional Leadership
  • Work closely with:
    • Marketing (branding & customer experience)
    • Commercial (category & supplier management)
    • Property/Project (rollout execution)
    • Finance (P&L & investment)
  • Align all functions to deliver one consistent CVS concept and execution standard.)
3. KEY REQUIREMENTS
Experience
  • 10–15+ years in retail, including senior leadership roles.
  • Strong experience in:
    • Convenience store / minimart / retail chain operations
    • Multi-site management & large-scale rollout
  • Proven track record in:
    • P&L ownership
    • Business transformation or new concept build
  • Experience in CVS, minimart, supermarket, or QSR chains is highly preferred.
