Operation Manager (Greenfield Factory Setup) – Long An

Location: Long An, Vietnam

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established international manufacturing company currently establishing a new production facility in Long An. They are seeking an experienced Operation Manager to play a key role in setting up the factory and leading manufacturing operations from the ground up.

This is an opportunity to join the project at an early stage and significantly influence factory setup, operational excellence, team building, and long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the setup and commissioning of a new manufacturing facility, ensuring readiness for production.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Build and lead the production organization, including recruitment, training, and capability development.
• Establish manufacturing systems, processes, SOPs, KPIs, and operational standards.
• Drive production planning and capacity ramp-up to support customer requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, EHS, HR, and other cross-functional teams throughout the factory startup phase.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
• Monitor manufacturing performance and identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare the factory for customer audits and support successful production ramp-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 8–15 years of manufacturing experience, including 5+ years in an Operations/Production leadership role.
• Proven experience in setting up a new factory, production line, or greenfield manufacturing project.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, quality systems, supply chain coordination, and continuous improvement.
• Hands-on experience implementing manufacturing processes, SOPs, KPIs, and operational systems.
• Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Good communication skills in English.
