BASIC FUNCTION OF THE JOB
The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for the testing, validation, and continuous improvement of optical and electronic products, including photodiodes, semiconductor lasers, and optical transceivers.
This role combines test development, failure analysis, and manufacturing support, with a strong focus on improving product quality, yield, and test efficiency in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
The position requires a solid background in test system development, data analysis, and troubleshooting, along with the ability to collaborate closely with global teams, particularly the Wuxi (China) team, to support product and test transfer into the Vietnam manufacturing site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY
Test Development & System Engineering
- Design, develop, and optimize test systems and methodologies for optical and electronic products.
- Develop and maintain test software using tools such as LabVIEW and C#.
- Ensure test solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with production requirements.
- Perform testing and validation for photodiodes, semiconductor lasers, and optical transceiver products.
- Analyze test data to ensure product performance meets specifications and quality standards.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and qualification activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis on test failures and product defects using structured methods.
- Identify failure modes and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability and yield.
- Troubleshoot issues related to testers, equipment, and test processes.
- Provide hands-on support in a cleanroom manufacturing environment, ensuring stable test operations.
- Drive yield improvement initiatives through data analysis and process optimization.
- Collaborate with Production, Process Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues.
- Work closely with global teams (especially Wuxi, China) to support product and test transfer into the Vietnam site.
- Ensure smooth knowledge transfer, system setup, and process alignment.
- Participate in ramp-up activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations using tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
- Work in a cross-functional and cross-cultural environment, collaborating with global stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and international counterparts to ensure alignment.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Physics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in test engineering, including test system development and failure analysis; Hands-on experience working in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment is required; Experience in electronics, optical, or semiconductor-related industries is preferred.
- International training: 6 months in China, followed by a mandatory bonding agreement
- Strong experience in test system development and debugging.
- Proficiency in LabVIEW, C#, and MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Solid knowledge of test troubleshooting, failure analysis, and yield improvement.
- Experience in data analysis and processing.
- Good command of English (4 skills); Chinese is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
