FP&A Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY :

The FP&A will play a key strategic role in driving financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis. You will partner closely with project controllers, operations teams, procurement, and senior management to provide timely, reliable financial insights, support decision-making, monitor project profitability, and enable effective cost control and value creation.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO BE ACCOMPLISHED:
 

• Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and long-range (3-5 year) financial planning for the company and its major business units (including engineering, procurement, construction/execution).
• Develop and maintain financial models (cost, revenue, margin, cash flow) to support project evaluation, scenario planning, and strategic initiatives (new projects, expansions).
• Monitor actual versus budget/forecast, analyze variances (cost overruns, schedule delays, procurement inefficiencies), and deliver actionable insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with project teams, project controls, procurement, engineering and operations to track project performance (budget-to-actual, schedule, change orders, claims, margin erosion) and ensure timely reporting of key metrics.
• Provide monthly/quarterly management reports (financial dashboards, KPI trends, project profitability, cost drivers, cash flow outlook) to senior leadership.
• Assist in the development of business cases for new contracts or project bids, including financial risk assessment, sensitivity analysis and break-even analysis.
• Support treasury/cash management by forecasting cash needs, supporting working capital optimization, identifying risks (e.g., contract financing, mobilization advances, retention receivables).
• Maintain and improve FP&A processes, tools, templates, and governance to increase efficiency, accuracy, and transparency across the finance function.
• Ensure data integrity, collaborate closely with accounting, internal audit and external audit teams to ensure alignment of financial reporting and FP&A outputs.
• Mentor and develop junior analysts within the FP&A team.

MAIN FINANCIAL AND MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (Turnover, P&L, Productivity of industrial & manufacturing equipment, manpower under his/her responsibility)




EDUCATION  (Qualifications obtained in the course of formal education and/or training)
 

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering or related field.
• MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
 

• 3-5 years of progressive experience in FP&A in FDI manufacturing company. Experience in EPE is a strong plus.
• Strong financial modelling skills (Excel, advanced formula, scenario/sensitivity modelling).
• Proven ability to produce insightful management reporting and drive business decisions with financial data.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to interpret complex data and present to senior management concisely.
• Strong business partnering skills – able to work cross-functionally, influence operations, engineering, procurement stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English; local language proficiency a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; flexible, proactive and solution-oriented.
• Experience with SAP/ERP systems and large-scale financial systems integration.
• Knowledge of risk management, contract accounting, and project financing would be beneficial.
