Principal Engineer, Product

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE JOB:

• Lead product engineering activities for optical module products, including BOM and workflow setup in Agile and MES, process optimization and production support.

• Work with Process, Test, Manufacturing, RD/NPI, QA, Planning and Supply Chain teams to improve yield, reduce scrap, reduce HPU and support cost reduction.

• Support new product transfer from NPI/RD to mass production and ensure smooth volume production during the transition phase.

• Develop and maintain engineering documentation such as process flow charts, PFMEA, work instructions, testing documents and packaging documents.

• Drive troubleshooting for production issues, customer complaints and shipment abnormalities, ensuring effective corrective actions and continuous improvement.

• Support product transfers among sites and complete customer or marketing mini-PIP activities.

JOB'S REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, Communications Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electronic Information Science and Technology, Computer Science and Technology, or related disciplines.

• Minimum 9 years of related experience in optical module or semiconductor manufacturing in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

• Minimum 3 years of managerial or leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others.

• Experience in optical module or semiconductor manufacturing, yield improvement, HPU reduction, scrap reduction and cost-down projects is preferred.

• Knowledge of optical module test parameters, production processes, BOM management and manufacturing workflow optimization.

• Experience setting up or maintaining BOM, routing or workflows in Agile, MES, Oracle or similar manufacturing systems is an advantage.

• Strong technical research, report writing, mathematical analysis, data analysis and problem-solving skills.

• Good English reading, writing and speaking skills, with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation capability.

REPORT TO: Senior Manager 2 or higher positions to be assigned.
