Job Summary
The Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the IE function to optimize production efficiency, improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational performance. This role focuses on capacity planning, line balancing, productivity improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
1. Process Optimization & Productivity Improvement
  • Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce cycle time, and optimize labor productivity.
  • Analyze production processes and implement improvements using industrial engineering tools and methodologies (time study, motion study, line balancing).
  • Identify bottlenecks and develop action plans to improve throughput.
2. Capacity Planning & Line Design
  • Develop production capacity plans based on demand forecasts and business requirements.
  • Design and optimize production layouts, workflows, and line configurations.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machines, and space.
3. Cost Reduction & Efficiency Management
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through process improvements and waste elimination.
  • Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including labor and overhead.
  • Establish standard labor hours (SLH) and continuously review and update them.
4. Continuous Improvement & Lean Implementation
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lead Kaizen, 5S, and operational excellence projects.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the factory.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze production data to track KPIs such as efficiency, utilization, yield, and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for management review.
  • Use data-driven insights to support decision-making and improvement initiatives.
6. New Product Introduction (NPI) Support
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support new product launches.
  • Evaluate manufacturability and optimize processes for new products.
  • Ensure smooth ramp-up with optimal efficiency and minimal waste.
7. Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Industrial Engineering team.
  • Set clear goals, KPIs, and performance targets.
  • Build team capability in IE techniques and continuous improvement practices.
8. Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
  • Support problem-solving and corrective action activities related to production performance.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management on operational improvements and risks.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing operations (experience in electronics manufacturing is highly preferred).
  • At least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S principles.
  • Experience with time study, line balancing, capacity planning, and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Good command of English (written and spoken).
