Logistic Specialist

Position: Logistics Specialist

Location: Vietnam
Reporting to: Supply Chain / Logistics Manager

Job Purpose

Manage and optimize international logistics operations for exports to the US and European markets, ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, customs compliance, and seamless coordination with internal teams, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and overseas customers.

Preference for candidates from export-oriented industries such as furniture, garment/textile, footwear, home décor, or industrial manufacturing with strong exposure to ocean freight and international trade compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Export Operations

• Manage end-to-end export shipments to the US and EU markets.
• Coordinate booking, shipping schedules, container planning, and cargo movement with freight forwarders and carriers.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve transportation delays, customs issues, and delivery exceptions.
• Ensure timely delivery according to customer requirements and Incoterms.

Customs & Trade Compliance

• Prepare and review export documentation:
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Packing List
  • Bill of Lading
  • Certificate of Origin (CO, EUR.1, Form B, etc.)
  • Customs declarations
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, trade agreements, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with customs brokers and government authorities when required.

Cost Control & Logistics Optimization

• Negotiate freight rates and logistics service agreements with shipping lines, carriers, and forwarders.
• Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for savings.
• Track KPI performance including:
  • On-time shipment rate
  • Freight cost per shipment
  • Customs clearance lead time
  • Delivery performance

Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with Sales, Planning, Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams.
• Support overseas customers regarding shipment schedules and logistics requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with logistics providers and transport partners.

Reporting

• Prepare regular logistics performance reports.
• Monitor shipping forecasts, container utilization, and export volumes.
• Provide logistics updates and risk assessments to management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, Foreign Trade, or related field.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of logistics/export operations experience.
• Strong preference for candidates from:
  • Furniture manufacturers/exporters
  • Garment & Textile exporters
  • Footwear manufacturers
  • Consumer goods export companies
  • Industrial manufacturing exporters

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of:
  • Ocean Freight (FCL/LCL)
  • Incoterms 2020
  • US and EU export procedures
  • Customs regulations
  • International shipping documentation
• Experience working with freight forwarders such as DHL Global Forwarding, Kuehne+Nagel, DSV, DB Schenker, Expeditors, Maersk Logistics, or similar.
