Head of Proprietary Investment

A leading securities firm is seeking a highly experienced investment professional to lead its Proprietary Investment Department. This role is responsible for developing and executing proprietary equity investment strategies, managing investment portfolios, overseeing risk controls, and driving sustainable investment performance in line with the company's strategic objectives and risk appetite.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related discipline. Master's degree, CFA designation, or other relevant professional certifications are preferred.

• Mandatory possession of a Securities Practicing Certificate in Financial Analysis or Fund Management.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in investment management, capital markets, or securities investment, including at least 3 years in a comparable leadership role.

• Strong understanding of financial markets, securities investment, corporate analysis, and risk management.

• Proven track record in developing investment strategies, managing investment portfolios, and delivering investment performance.

• Experience in designing, supervising, and optimizing investment processes, due diligence frameworks, and risk control mechanisms.

• Strong capability in portfolio performance evaluation, investment return measurement, and identifying improvement opportunities.

• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to build, develop, and manage high-performing investment teams.

• Strong people management, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to motivate teams and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of proprietary equity investment strategies aligned with the company's strategic direction and risk appetite.

• Advise the Executive Management Team and Investment Committee on investment strategies, portfolio plans, and proprietary investment activities.

• Identify, assess, and recommend investment opportunities across listed and unlisted securities markets.

• Oversee and manage investment portfolios to ensure optimal performance across sectors, industries, and individual investments.

• Execute investment transactions, divestments, and portfolio restructuring activities in accordance with approved investment mandates.

• Monitor and control investment risks while ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.

• Develop, review, and enhance investment policies, procedures, and operational frameworks.

• Lead, develop, and manage the Proprietary Investment team, including resource allocation, coaching, talent development, and performance management.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Strong market network and understanding of Vietnam's capital markets.

• Experience managing sizeable proprietary portfolios and interacting with senior executives, investment committees, and external stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities under dynamic market conditions.

• High ethical standards, integrity, and ability to operate within a robust governance framework.
