Position Overview

The Actuarial Product Manager / Senior Specialist is responsible for driving and supporting the end-to-end insurance product development lifecycle, from idea generation and feasibility analysis to regulatory approval, implementation, launch, and post-launch management. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products are successfully developed, launched on schedule, and remain compliant with regulatory requirements while meeting customer and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

As an Actuarial Product Manager / Senior Specialist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative insurance solutions and contribute to all stages of product management and development.

Product Development & Management

• Develop and recommend product concepts, features, and enhancements through feasibility assessments, market insights, and stakeholder consultation.

• Partner with internal functions and external business partners to gather requirements and translate them into effective product solutions.

• Coordinate the preparation of product-related documentation, including product specifications, product summaries, business requirements, and supporting materials.

• Prepare and maintain regulatory submission packages, policy contract wording, implementation documents, operating procedures, and product launch guidelines.

• Support product implementation activities and work closely with distribution channels and business partners to ensure successful and timely product launches.

• Design and enhance business rules, operational processes, and governance frameworks to support efficient product development and management.

• Monitor product performance and provide ongoing support to improve product effectiveness and customer value propositions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Insurance, Business, or a related discipline.

• At least 4-5 years of experience in life insurance and/or health insurance product development.

• Solid understanding of insurance products, product governance, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Experience conducting market research, customer analysis, focus groups, and competitive assessments.

• Familiarity with benefit illustration systems and product implementation processes.

• Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-growing, or ambiguous business environments.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.

• Strong communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of life insurance product design, customer value propositions, and product positioning.

• Strong understanding of insurance regulations, product approval processes, and compliance requirements.

• Working knowledge of actuarial principles, pricing methodologies, and product profitability analysis.

• Experience working with multiple distribution channels, including Bancassurance, Agency, and Strategic Partnerships.

• Professional actuarial qualifications or progress toward actuarial certification would be an advantage.
