Actuarial Pricing (Ho Chi Minh City)

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Pricing Manager / Senior Specialist to join a leading life insurance company in Vietnam. This role is responsible for supporting product pricing activities across the full product lifecycle, including product development, modeling, profitability analysis, reinsurance coordination, and implementation support. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop competitive, sustainable, and profitable insurance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Pricing & Development

• Support the design and development of innovative and profitable insurance products through actuarial pricing analysis and market assessment.
• Partner with Product Development and business teams to understand market needs and product requirements, providing actuarial insights throughout the product development process.
• Conduct pricing exercises for new and existing products, including premium rate determination, profitability analysis, and sensitivity testing.
• Develop pricing tools, tariff tables, and actuarial models to support product implementation and ongoing management.
• Prepare pricing documentation and support product approval submissions to regulators and regional stakeholders.

Modeling & Analytics

• Build and maintain actuarial models using Prophet, covering Traditional Life, Investment-Linked, Health, and Medical Insurance products.
• Validate pricing models and assumptions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with governance standards.
• Perform experience studies covering mortality, lapse, and expense assumptions.
• Conduct data analysis in line with company guidelines and local regulatory requirements.

Reinsurance & Profitability Management

• Manage reinsurance-related activities, including quotation assessments, treaty reviews, negotiations, and administration.
• Support analyses related to product profitability, benefit costing, distribution compensation structures, and new business projections.
• Contribute to business planning, budgeting, and strategic actuarial initiatives.
• Governance & Risk Management
• Ensure pricing activities comply with internal governance frameworks and Vietnamese regulatory requirements.
• Support reviews of actuarial assumptions and model validation processes to maintain robust pricing practices.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4-5 years of actuarial experience in life insurance, ideally within Pricing, Product Development, Valuation, or related actuarial functions.
• Strong understanding of Vietnamese insurance regulations, actuarial standards, taxation, and reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of international actuarial and financial reporting frameworks applicable to life insurance companies.

Technical Skills

• Experience using Prophet for actuarial modeling is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, data interpretation, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced Excel and strong database/data management skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex actuarial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Progress toward professional actuarial credentials such as SOA, IFoA, or IAAust.
• Hands-on experience pricing Traditional, Investment-Linked, Health, or Medical Insurance products.
• Experience in reinsurance negotiations and product profitability analysis.
• Strong English and Vietnamese communication skills are advantageous.
