With sustainability, digitization, and global challenges redefining the labor market, Vietnam is witnessing a clear shift in workforce demand—one that prioritizes skilled and technically trained talent. According to a recent survey by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), by 2024, 62% of foreign-invested enterprises (FDIs) in Vietnam are prioritizing the recruitment of vocationally trained workers, a significant increase from just 45% five years ago.

Manpower Vietnam, a leading provider of workforce solutions, is partnering with international organizations to bring world-class technical training programs closer to Vietnamese students. These initiatives are designed to equip the next generation of engineers with globally recognized skills—helping them launch successful careers in high-demand industries like aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

New Career Pathways for Young Engineers

Job opportunities for mechanical and technical engineering students in Vietnam are expanding beyond traditional sectors like automotive and industrial machinery. Today, they can aim for more advanced, high-tech roles - such as aircraft maintenance and repair. This field demands rigorous technical expertise, specialized certifications, and strong hands-on experience, offering a clear path for young engineers to build globally competitive careers.

Through a strategic partnership with HAECO - one of the world’s leading aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers - Manpower Vietnam is introducing the Aircraft Engineer License Trainee (AELT) program. This 48-month training pathway combines classroom learning, hands-on practice, and intensive technical coaching in Xiamen, China, with the goal of earning globally recognized engineering certifications.

Beyond technical knowledge, the AELT program opens doors to career opportunities at HAECO’s world-class MRO centers, which currently employ over 16,000 professionals worldwide.

Bridging Vietnamese Talent with Global Engineering Standards

As part of its mission to connect young professionals in Vietnam with high-tech career opportunities, Manpower Vietnam is partnering with multinational corporations to deliver internationally accredited training programs—such as AELT, LIMI, and other specialized recruitment initiatives. These programs are designed to help Vietnamese students gain the skills, certifications, and experience needed to thrive in global engineering and technical fields.

Through recruitment events like the Aviation Career Takeoff – Recruitment Open Day, held at the Vietnam Aviation Academy (Ho Chi Minh City) and the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi – USTH (Hanoi), engineering students had the opportunity to directly engage with industry experts and explore these career-shaping programs firsthand.

According to Mr. William Arblaster, General Manager, Strategy Planning & OEM at HAECO Group, AELT represents a rare opportunity in the engineering field—especially in Vietnam. “This program not only delivers hands-on, high-standard technical training, but also opens the door to global career pathways for young engineers with the ambition to go further.”
