Chief Accountant | Manufacturing | New Business Setup

We're supporting a growing manufacturing business that is looking for a hands-on Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function during an exciting build-up phase.

This is not a maintenance role. We're looking for someone who enjoys creating structure, establishing processes, and building a solid accounting foundation in a fast-growing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and multiple stakeholders while ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strong financial controls.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Accounting Operations

• Take ownership of the full accounting function, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Tax, and month-end closing activities.
• Manage journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, allocations, and financial controls.
• Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and compliant with statutory requirements.
• Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations across related entities.

Financial Reporting

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
• Prepare timely and accurate management reports and financial statements.
• Support reporting requirements for management and key stakeholders.
• Ensure financial information is presented clearly and consistently.

Tax & Compliance

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings and statutory reports.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and relevant authorities.
• Maintain compliance with local accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
• Support annual audits and regulatory reviews.

Process Improvement & Finance Setup

• Establish and strengthen accounting processes, reporting structures, controls, and approval workflows.
• Support the implementation of accounting policies and best practices.
• Contribute to system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
• Participate in finance-related projects associated with business growth and expansion.

Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic objectives.
• Provide reliable financial insights to support decision-making.
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as a key finance partner in a dynamic and evolving business environment.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of solid accounting and finance experience.
• Strong experience across the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, General Ledger, Tax, Intercompany Accounting, and Financial Reporting.
• Sound knowledge of statutory compliance and tax regulations.
• Experience in manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing organization.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Business-level English communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting a newly established entity, business expansion, greenfield project, or finance setup.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar platforms.
• Experience working across multiple entities or complex reporting structures.
