Costing & Sales Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Costing & Sales Engineer to support quotation management, technical analysis, and order processing activities within a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong technical understanding of mechanical drawings, costing methodologies, and manufacturing processes to ensure accurate quotations and smooth coordination between customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Quotation & Costing Management

• Review customer RFQs, technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

• Analyze manufacturing feasibility and prepare detailed cost calculations, including materials, machining, tooling, and production costs.

• Generate accurate quotations using ERP/SAP systems.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to validate pricing assumptions and technical requirements.

• Follow up on quotations, customer feedback, and commercial negotiations.

Technical Evaluation

• Interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.

• Assess manufacturing methods, production processes, and capacity requirements.

• Evaluate the suitability of existing machinery, tooling, fixtures, and equipment for new projects.

• Recommend new tooling, fixtures, or equipment investments when necessary and estimate associated costs.

• Work closely with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing solutions.

Order Management & Production Coordination

• Review customer orders and ensure alignment with approved quotations.

• Verify cycle times, takt times, and production readiness before releasing manufacturing orders.

• Coordinate with planning, production, and engineering teams to support on-time project execution.

• Monitor and update production-related costing parameters.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Participate in project review meetings involving sales, engineering, production, and supply chain teams.

• Support discussions related to cost optimization, manufacturability, and delivery schedules.

• Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal departments.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain quotation, order, and customer records within ERP/SAP systems.

• Prepare weekly and monthly quotation performance reports.

• Ensure documentation complies with company procedures and quality management standards.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Experience in manufacturing, machining, metal fabrication, or technical sales engineering environments.

• Prior experience in costing, quotation, estimation, or sales engineering is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.

• Good understanding of machining, fabrication, manufacturing processes, and production costing.

• Experience with ERP/SAP or similar enterprise systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Language Skills

• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

• Ability to communicate professionally via email and understand technical drawings and documentation in English.
