The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily quality control activities on the production floor to ensure that products meet internal and customer specifications. This role focuses on inspection, measurement, defect identification, and material and product verification, and is essential in maintaining material and product conformity and supporting production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) for incoming material inspection, in-process and final product inspection based on industrial standards, customer and internal requirements.
- Team Management: Lead, assign tasks, and supervise QC leaders and inspectors to ensure inspection activities for materials, semi-finished and finished products are performed accurately and on time.
- Inspection Oversight: Monitor daily QC operations, including incoming, in-process, and final inspections, ensuring compliance with customer and certification requirements.
- Calibration Control: Oversee calibration schedules, ensure measuring instruments and lab equipment are maintained, serviced, and calibrated periodically.
- Laboratory Management: Manage QC laboratory operations, including equipment upkeep, preventive maintenance, and readiness for audits or customer visits.
- Non-conformance Handling: Identify defects, document NCRs, and coordinate corrective/preventive actions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Ensure timely completion of inspection reports, FAIRs, ISIRs, MSA, PPAP and other QC documents.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
- Training & SOPs: Provide training to QC team members, enforce SOPs, and maintain professional standards in reporting and communication.
- Supervise handling of controlled items and ensure traceability in line with quality requirements.
- Performance Development: Appraise and coach QC team members to improve skills, efficiency, and accountability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean quality practices identified by the Quality Manager.
- Supervise and execute evaluation of localization compound properties.
- Support problem-solving activities related to compound performance, defects, or deviations in the production process.
Requirements
- Technical degree or higher in Engineering, Quality, or a related field. Educational background in material science is preferred.
- Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including direct experience with inspection, measurement tools, and production support.
- Experience working alongside cross-functional teams such as design engineering and production.

- Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to guide and support QC staff effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and inspection methodologies, including in-process and final product control.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
