Job Summary

Responsible for developing and reviewing mechanical and electrical design works for projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and project requirements. This role involves coordination between multidisciplinary teams, providing technical solutions, and supporting the full project cycle from concept to completion — particularly in high-precision facilities such as data centres, commercial buildings, or industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review mechanical and electrical design drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Ensure all M&E designs comply with local codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Develop energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions aligned with project goals.
- Coordinate with architects, civil, and structural teams to integrate M&E systems into the overall design.
- Review shop drawings and design submissions from consultants or contractors.
- Support tendering processes by preparing technical documents, BOQ, and design clarifications.
- Conduct design validation, feasibility studies, and value engineering analysis.
- Provide design support and technical guidance during project execution and commissioning stages.
- Attend design meetings, client reviews, and site coordination sessions.
- Resolve design-related issues promptly to ensure project timelines are met.
- Prepare design reports, calculations, and documentation for authority submission.
- Maintain accurate design records and technical correspondence.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the M&E Design Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in M&E design engineering, preferably within data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial plants, commercial buildings, or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, ELV, and building services infrastructure.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing design drawings, calculations, technical specifications, BOQ, and tender documentation.
- Familiarity with local building codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Navisworks, and relevant engineering calculation tools.
- Strong experience in Data Centres, Semiconductor Facilities, Hospitals, Manufacturing Plants, or other Critical Infrastructure Projects will have a distinct advantage.
