This role oversees all accounting, tax, and financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while managing cash flow, budgeting, production costing, cost control, and internal controls to support informed management decision-making.

Our client, the company operates in the bag and luggage manufacturing, transportation, and warehousing industries, is seeking an Accounting Head position. This role oversees all accounting, tax, and financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while managing cash flow, budgeting, production costing, cost control, and internal controls to support informed management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and guide the accounting team; assign work and monitor work progress and quality.
- Control all accounting activities including AR/AP, cash, bank transactions, fixed assets, inventory and related accounts.
- Lead and control the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing process within the required timeline.
- Ensure financial statements, management reports and periodic reports are prepared and reviewed accurately and on time.
- Monitor tax declarations, tax finalization and compliance; coordinate with tax authorities when required.
- Manage and control production costing; analyze variances between standard cost and actual cost.
- Monitor material, labor and manufacturing overhead costs; work with relevant departments to control production costs.
- Prepare and monitor budgets; analyze actual vs. budget variances; prepare cash flow forecasts and highlight financial risks.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with Company policies and applicable laws.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax authorities and relevant parties during audits, inspections and financial explanations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
Education & Certificate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or a related field.
- Chief Accountant Certificate if the position is required to perform the statutory Chief Accountant role in Vietnam.
- Minimum 7 years of accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management position; manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of Vietnamese accounting standards, tax regulations and relevant laws.
- Strong team management, data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Able to communicate and prepare/read financial reports and accounting documents in English.
- Careful, honest, responsible and able to work independently.
