Ocean Freight Procurement Officer

• Develop ocean freight sourcing strategies, analyze market trends, conduct RFQs/tenders, and benchmark rates.
• Negotiate freight rates, capacity, free time, surcharges, and service terms with shipping lines and logistics providers.
• Manage freight contracts, rate cards, MQC, allocations, surcharges, and validity.
• Monitor space, equipment, blank sailings, rollover, schedule reliability, and carrier performance.
• Analyze freight costs, savings, market competitiveness, and KPIs; provide data-driven procurement recommendations.
• Develop and maintain strong carrier/supplier relationships and drive continuous cost and process improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on Ocean Freight Procurement / Strategic Sourcing / Shipping Line / Freight Forwarding experience. Strong knowledge of ocean freight, shipping lines, global trade lanes, freight charges, PSS, GRI, WRS, BAF, DEM/DET, free time, and service contracts.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills; Power BI / Power Query / SAP / procurement systems are an advantage.
• Freight benchmarking experience is preferred. Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Good command of English (4 skills)
