Senior RoR Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain core product features using Ruby on Rails.
• Drive the modernization of existing applications by transitioning them to a microservices architecture.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to gather requirements and define functional specifications.
• Design scalable system architectures and evaluate/select appropriate middleware solutions based on business and technical requirements.
• Analyze system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement initiatives to enhance product quality and service reliability.

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• Strong alignment with Andpad’s mission, vision, and values.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining web applications with Ruby on Rails.
• Proven experience serving as a Technical Lead throughout the complete software development lifecycle.
• Solid understanding of database technologies and practical experience in database design and development.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or equivalent platforms.
• Demonstrated expertise in API design, development, and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and the end-to-end development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting production issues through log analysis and root-cause investigation.
• Practical experience building and deploying applications using container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to design system architectures and select appropriate middleware solutions based on application requirements.
• Contributions to Open Source Software (OSS) projects, including publishing or maintaining libraries/tools.
• Active involvement in the technology community through activities such as technical blogging, speaking engagements, knowledge sharing, or publishing technical content.
