Solar Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Engineering team across both Electrical and Structural functions, with a stronger emphasis on electrical design and engineering activities.
• Oversee the planning, development, and execution of engineering designs and technical solutions for rooftop solar and other clean energy projects serving Commercial & Industrial (C&I) clients, from feasibility and concept design through detailed engineering and construction stages.
• Support the implementation of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects by conducting technical research, coordinating with stakeholders, and providing design expertise as needed.
• Serve as the technical focal point throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective resolution of engineering challenges before installation, during project execution, and after commissioning, including issues related to power quality, electrical integration, and energy storage systems.
• Enhance the technical competencies of the design team while continuously improving engineering standards, products, and service offerings.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, assessing innovative solutions to strengthen the company's energy solutions portfolio.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in solar PV system design. Candidates with strong technical expertise but limited leadership experience are encouraged to apply, as career development opportunities are available.
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with solid knowledge of electrical systems and engineering principles.
• Strong understanding of medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) systems, including the integration of solar solutions into industrial electrical networks.
• Ability to interpret and assess electrical load studies, power quality analysis reports, and industrial electrical/control drawings.
• Hands-on experience with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, SketchUp, and other relevant tools.
• TOEIC 650+ or equivalent English proficiency, particularly in reading and understanding technical documents.
• Proactive, accountable, and results-oriented with a strong commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
• Demonstrates a growth mindset, openness to feedback, and a willingness to continuously develop new skills.
• Collaborative team player who works effectively with colleagues and contributes positively to team success.
