Sales Manager – Motors & Gearboxes

Location: Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City (Remote/Home-based within Northern or Southern Vietnam)
Reporting To: Country Manager / Sales Director
Industry: Industrial Automation, Power Transmission, Motion Control
Territory: Vietnam

Position Summary

The Sales Manager will be responsible for growing sales and market share for industrial electric motors, gearboxes, geared motors, and power transmission solutions across Vietnam. The role focuses on developing new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and expanding distributor, OEM, EPC, and end-user networks in key industries including manufacturing, food & beverage, cement, steel, mining, water treatment, logistics, and industrial automation.

The successful candidate can be based in either Northern or Southern Vietnam and will be responsible for driving revenue growth through direct sales and channel development activities nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales Growth

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities with OEMs, system integrators, EPC contractors, distributors, and end-users.
• Promote the company's portfolio of electric motors, gearboxes, gearmotors, drives, and associated industrial solutions.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and market intelligence.
• Conduct regular customer visits and business reviews.

Key Account Management

• Manage and develop relationships with strategic customers across Vietnam.
• Understand customers' technical and commercial requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
• Lead commercial negotiations, contract discussions, and pricing strategies.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term partnership development.

Channel & Distributor Management

• Develop and strengthen distributor networks within assigned territories.
• Support distributors with sales planning, product training, and joint customer visits.
• Monitor distributor performance and establish growth plans.
• Identify opportunities to expand market coverage through new channel partners.

Technical Sales Support

• Work closely with application engineers and technical teams to recommend suitable motor and gearbox solutions.
• Provide technical and commercial presentations to customers.
• Support product selection, sizing, and proposal preparation.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution.

Market Analysis

• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and customer requirements.
• Identify emerging industries and market opportunities.
• Provide regular market feedback and demand forecasts to management.

Reporting & Planning

• Prepare sales forecasts, monthly reports, and business development plans.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activities.
• Achieve KPIs related to sales growth, pipeline development, customer acquisition, and profitability.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or Business-related disciplines.

Experience

• Minimum 5-10 years of sales experience in industrial products.
• Proven track record selling:
  • Electric Motors
  • Gearboxes
  • Geared Motors
  • Power Transmission Products
  • Industrial Automation Equipment
  • Drives & Motion Control Solutions
• Experience managing distributors and direct key accounts.
• Strong network within manufacturing and industrial sectors in Vietnam.
• Experience working for multinational industrial companies is highly preferred.

Technical Knowledge

• Good understanding of:
  • AC/DC Motors
  • Gear Reducers
  • Helical, Bevel, Worm and Planetary Gearboxes
  • VSD/VFD Drives
  • Motion Control Applications
  • Industrial Automation Systems
