Head of Institutional Sales
I. Job Purpose
Responsible for establishing and developing the Institutional Sales business, with a focus on expanding the network of international institutional investors, including offshore funds, global asset managers, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and foreign institutional investors. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth from institutional brokerage, research services, equity and fixed-income trading, and capital markets products.
Serve as a strategic lead in building relationships with international financial institutions and increasing the Company's market share within the foreign institutional investor segment.
II. Key Responsibilities
1. Institutional Sales Strategy Development
• Develop and execute strategies to expand the institutional client base.
• Develop business plans and targets for AUM, trading volume, and revenue contribution.
• Build and implement an institutional coverage model aligned with international best practices.
2. Offshore Investor Business Development
• Identify and establish relationships with international investment funds.
• Build offshore client pipeline through investor networks, roadshows, conferences and events.
• Maintain relationships with CIOs, Portfolio Managers, Fund Managers and Analysts.
• Understand investor strategies and requirements to provide tailored solutions.
3. Institutional Brokerage & Revenue Growth
• Drive institutional trading activities across equity brokerage, block trades, foreign investor trading, bond products and investment solutions.
• Increase market share within institutional investors.
• Collaborate with Research, IB, Product, Trading and Operations teams.
4. Institutional Relationship Management
• Act as primary relationship manager for strategic institutional clients.
• Provide market insights and gather client feedback.
5. Institutional Sales Team Building
• Recruit, train and develop Institutional Sales team.
• Establish coverage, segmentation, performance and relationship frameworks.
III. Requirements
Experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Institutional Sales, Equity Sales, Investment Banking, Capital Markets, or related fields.
• Experience with offshore funds, foreign institutional investors, asset managers and hedge funds.
Professional Knowledge
• Strong understanding of Vietnam capital markets, institutional trading flows and regulations.
• Established international institutional investor network.
Leadership Competencies
• Business building and strategy formulation capability.
• International investor network development skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Strong commercial mindset and revenue generation track record.
• Fluent English communication skills.
