MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
1. Management
• Lead and animate a team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Lab teams,
• Ensure continuous improvement in line with industrial strategy, and particularly Quality, Costs competitiveness, and launching deadlines.
• Respect new products development process, in line with the procedures,
• Drive projects portfolio, by analyzing and reducing the risk regarding:
- schedule and on time delivery,
- respect specifications, quality level, certification, and safety, and ensure that products can be produced in accordance with target price,
- analyze possible deviations, and control by anticipating corrective actions,
- give efficient reporting on the project’s portfolio, alert when necessary, and support decisions.
• Trough robust execution of processes, develop atmosphere of trust, with related departments and customers,
• Develop product expertise and capitalize experience according to the procedure.
2. Main tasks
• Propose the best options for product development, report to decision making bodies, applying the industrial strategy and responding to the requirements expressed in projects specifications.
• Take part in defining the project goals & anticipate any difficulties in the project and engage action plans to overcome them.
• Manage development resources, as well as control projects investments,
• Lead Projects Progress Reviews.
• Report projects progress in the Product Committee meetings, Business Unit, and Continental Management.
• Ensure competitiveness of technical ranges (components, sub-sets, plate-forms), supporting the products strategy,
• Take health and safety principles into account.
3. Reminder of Process
• Technical projects: electrical motors development, standardization of technical components, value engineering and cost optimization projects, standards evolutions follow-up.
• Finished goods projects: following the different steps defined in the company, for different kinds of projects (time-to-market, innovation, high-end, design to cost, CKD/SKD), and going through projects validation gates: pre-study, study, tooling release, final commitment to market, market launch, project closure.
4. Sustainable Development:
• Integrate in the exercise of this function the principles and objectives of the sustainable development of the company, in the respect of the engagements: ethic, social, human resources, and environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Engineering degree of mechanical / electrical / Process with 10 years relevant working experiences
• MBA in technical management is a PLUS,
• With at least 5 years of experience in new products development projects,
• Good awareness of Vietnamese culture and context (minimum 5 years working in Vietnam),
• Experienced in consumer goods, small domestic appliances.
• Ability to manage teams, and resources (equipment, investments)
• General knowledge of quality tools: FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), value analysis, test plans, design reviews,
• Used to work with product marketing, general knowledge of the markets associated with the product (consumer goods, competition),
• Ability to define and respect priorities, reconciling the short term and strategic targets,
• Ability to set objectives, delegate and develop employees,
